Colchonería y Mueblería La Nacional has it’s beginnings towards the year 1940 where a small mattress factory serves as a platform for the vision of a young entrepreneur whose dedication, hard work and innovating spirit will transform it into what it is today, one of the biggest and most up-to-date industrial facilities of the Caribbean dedicated to the manufacture of furniture and mattresses of world-wide class.

 

Located in Santo Domingo City in the Dominican Republic, with an Executive Board of directors presided by Juan Jose Attias Hamna, this company is dedicated mainly to the manufacture of upholstered furniture, innerspring units, mattresses and the distribution of exclusive brands and related products for the home.

 

The forefront spirit of the company’s directives and desire of improving quality and service to their clients took La Nacional to integrate itself vertically incorporating in it’s structure two additional industries: “Gomas y Plásticos, CxA” (GOPLACA) which is dedicated to manufacture of polyurethane foam and printed plastics for packaging, and the other one, dedicated to the manufacture of innerspring units for the use of the mattress industry.

 

This opportune decision contributed to a better quality control and a greater efficiency of costs, factors that helped La Nacional gain and maintain the leadership of the national market and to be a successful exporter in other international markets as well.

 

Colchonería y Mueblería La Nacional CxA has been certified under the quality norm ISO-9001 for fulfilling the approved standards for design, manufacture and distribution of furniture, mattresses and innerspring units.

 

In its desire to be closer to their clients, this corporation integrates also several retail stores known as “Tiendas La Nacional”. Through this dependencies the company takes care of the specific necessities of the final consumer, including a wide variety of imported and local furniture, covering different market segments with selected merchandise from all parts of the world. This proximity to the final customer allows the company to obtain direct feedback of the changing market and the new tendencies maintaining a permanent state of evolution.

 

The international brands represented, enjoy great prestige and reaffirm the commitment of this group to quality products and world-wide recognized brands. This compromise to quality and the incorporation of continuous technical advances earned us the trust of  Simmons Bedding Company, granting us the license to manufacture their brands since 1980. Atlas, is another recognized name we distribute.  Atlas is a well known manufacturer of household appliances. Other well known names are Comfortech and Nacional, two of the most relevant brands of the group that are sold locally and are exported with much success.
